The IMF has created the Latin American Myeloma Network (LAMN) to conduct multinational trials, provide myeloma education to patients and providers, facilitate collaborative research, and deepen the myeloma expertise across the region of Latin America. It also serves to bring Latin American expertise to the wider global program of the IMF, including the IMF International Myeloma Working Group.
Current member countries of the LAMN include top myeloma investigators from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay. The first clinical trial LAMN001 is soon to be launched for early relapsed disease.
SUMMIT
International Myeloma Foundation to Hold First Latin American Myeloma Network Summit in Brazil
The inaugural Latin American Myeloma Network (LAMN) Summit will convene leading myeloma investigators from six Latin American countries following the International Myeloma Society Meeting in Rio de Janeiro. The International Myeloma Foundation organized LAMN to expand multinational trials, enhance provider and patient education, and deepen regional myeloma expertise. The Summit seeks to strengthen institutional partnerships, promote accessibility to novel low-cost treatment combinations, and elevate Latin American contributions within global IMF programs such as the International Myeloma Working Group. A forthcoming early relapsed multiple myeloma clinical trial (LAMN001) underscores the research-oriented trajectory of the initiative. The event will also provide mentorship and collaborative opportunities for junior investigators.
