Summary and Conclusions
· Patients with elevated cr levels were more often male
and had lower baseline platelet counts.
· After 3 cycles, almost half (45%) with an elevated
baseline cr level experienced a decrease in cr level,
which normalized in 29%.
· Although 7 patients(29%) with an elevated baseline
cr level experienced an increase in cr level, this was
minimal and clinically insignificant.
· The incidence in grade 3-4 neutropenia, febrile
neutropenia or any infection was similar in both
groups.
Summary and Conclusions
(continued)
· Patients with an elevated baseline cr level
experienced more grade 3-4 thrombocytopenia and
more often required platelet transfusions (67% vs
28%). However, no bleeding complications were
observed in this group.
· The response rate, progression-free survival and
overall survival are similar to date in patients with an
elevated or normal baseline cr level.
