Official Rules of Barre Rotary Club 1st Annual Sports Car Charity Raffle
1. Anyone who is at least age 18 may purchase a raffle ticket and participate in this raffle, including members of Barre
Rotary Club and their families.
2. A maximum of 250 tickets for this raf le drawing wil be sold at a price of $100 per ticket. Payment must be received
by Barre Rotary Club (BRC) no later than the start of the drawing. Any check that is dishonored by the bank will
invalidate the ticket.
3. If 250 tickets are sold, each ticket will have a 1-in-250 chance of winning the grand prize of a 2004 Mazda Miata
convertible.
4. Winner will be determined by random drawing. The drawing will take place on Saturday July 30, 2011, at the annual
Barre Rotary Library Breakfast. Winner need not be present. Winner wil be notified by mail and or telephone. The
name of the winner wil be made available to the media and posted on BRC website.
5. If fewer than 250 tickets are sold prior to the drawing, BRC reserves the right to (a) convert the drawing from a grand
prize of a 2004 Mazda Miata convertible to a grand prize of 50% of the gross proceeds from ticket sales, or (b) cancel
the event and return each ticket holder's money.
6. In the unlikely event that duplicate tickets are sold, the valid ticket will belong to the individual whose ticket price
was received by BRC first. BRC's decision in this matter will be final and binding.
7. The delivery of the grand prize, a 2004 Mazda Miata convertible, wil be made as soon as practical.
8. Winner wil assume and be responsible for al licensing, registration, title, license plate, and all other fees, and local,
state, and federal taxes, including without limitation al applicable sales, luxury, income, and special taxes. BRC spe-
cifically disclaims any warranties, including without limitation warranties of merchantability and fitness for a par-
ticular purpose regarding the 2004 Mazda Miata.
9. For any prize awarded with a value in excess of $600, winner must provide BRC with a signed IRS form W-9 certi-
fying his or her taxpayer identification number for tax-reporting purposes. For prizes with a value in excess of $5000,
winner must also pay BRC 25% of the fair market value of the prize to be remit ed to the U.S. Treasury as federal
withholding. Both the value of the prize, and the amount of the withholding, will be reported to the winner by BRC
on form 1099 prior to January 31, 2012. BRC will withhold the prize pending receipt of form W-9 and any required
withholding.
10. Retain your raffle ticket stub. In the event of any dispute or controversy concerning the winner of any drawing or
prize, you will be required to produce your raffle ticket stub.
11. No person will be the winner of any prize and no prize will be paid or delivered to the owner or holder of any raffle
ticket stub unless and until the person whose ticket is drawn presents proof of age and any and all disputes, claims or
controversies relating to the prize are resolved.
12. The winner of any prize must claim it within 90 days of the drawing. If the winner does not claim the prize within 90
days of the drawing, by responding to telephone or writ en notice from BRC or otherwise, the prize will be forfeited
and will be retained by and benefit BRC.
13. Any and all disputes, claims and controversies concerning this raffle shall be submitted to and resolved by binding
arbitration, to be conduced under the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. The deci-
sion of the arbitrator will be final and binding on all parties.
