The IMF Nurse Leadership Board (NLB), comprised of nurses from leading myeloma centers across the country who care for patients with myeloma,  held its inaugural meeting on November 5-6, 2006 in Dallas, Texas and has since  proven itself to be invaluable to the myeloma community, as evidenced by the scope and depth of their work on developing the Consensus Statements for the Management of Side Effects from Novel Therapies in Myeloma which were CE accredited and published in the landmark ONS Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing, June 2008, Volume 12, No.3 (> 70,000 distributed to date),  their abstract, Long Term Care Guidelines for Myeloma Patients that was presented at the International Myeloma Workshop, February 26-March 1, 2009 in Washington DC and their recent publication of the first text book ever on myeloma for nurses published by the Oncology Nursing Society this year, Multiple Myeloma: A Textbook for Nurses.  In addition, the NLB has just completed the Long Term Care Survivorship Plans for patients with myeloma that is in process for publication in 2011.
