Support Groups

The IMF is often asked by patients if we know of support groups in their areas where they can meet others dealing with myeloma. There is a worldwide network of more than 150 myeloma support groups that hold regular meetings for members of the myeloma community.

Although the IMF does not sponsor these groups, we support their efforts and conduct annual summits for myeloma support group leaders. We encourage you to seek them out. Use the menu below for a list of the groups that we are aware of in your area.

United States : Alabama

The Central Alabama Multiple Myeloma Support Group, founded in January, 2013, meets on the 1st Saturday of each month from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Southern Legacy BBQ, 2943 John Hawkins Parkway (Highway 150), Hoover, AL 35244. The Montgomery Alabama Area Support Group, founded in May, 2009, meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Frazer United Methodist Church, 6000 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36117; Room 3105 in Building 3000 at the front of the church. The Coosa Valley Multiple Myeloma Support Group, founded in February, 2013, meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Cornerstone Church, Equip Building (via South Entrance), 324 Mathis Drive NW, Rome, GA 30165.
