Novel therapies provide hope for extended disease-free periods for multiple myeloma patients. At the IMF-sponsored lunch symposium for oncology nurses who care for patients with multiple myeloma, the IMF's Nurse Leadership Board (NLB) discussed the key long-term sequelae and side effects of multiple myeloma and its treatment. In addition, this symposium introduced the leadership role nurses can engage in by implementing long-term survivorship care for their patients. Survivorship care planning allows for optimal management of emergent late-term effects and improves patients' quality of life. Download the PowerPoint presentation.
