The Nurse Leadership Board (NLB) is made up of nurses from the leading centers treating myeloma patients in the US. Their mission is to develop broad recommendations for nursing care for myeloma patients.

Sandra Rome, RN, MN, AOCN, a clinical nurse specialist in hematology and oncology at the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the UCLA School of Nursing. Early in her career, says Rome, she was inspired by cancer nurses: "They were so knowledgeable about diseases, treatment and symptom management – the whole of the patient." |

Beth Faiman, member of the IMF Nurse Leadership Board, has received the 2012 Excellence in Medical Oncology Award from the Oncology Nursing Society. A certified nurse practitioner at the Cleveland Clinic, Faiman is also a full-time pre-doctoral research fellow at Case Western Reserve. The first meeting of the Nurse Leadership Board (NLB) took place November 4th - 5th, in Dallas, Texas. The scope of this project is to develop broad recommendations for nursing care for myeloma patients, and at the initial NLB Retreat the focus was on Novel therapies. |
