Fri, Sep 05, 2008

Where:
Your house!

WHAT’S HAPPENING?
At 8:00 p.m. (in every time zone across the country), ABC, CBS and NBC will support cancer research with a commercial-free primetime hour to raise awareness about cancer and the importance of cancer research.

WHAT’S STAND UP TO CANCER?
Comprised of celebrities, leading researchers, advocacy groups, and major corporations Stand Up to Cancer is a galvanizing force created to urgently move cancer research forward.

The IMF is part of Stand Up To Cancer as a recognized resource, and Susie Novis, President of the IMF, is a member of the Stand Up to Cancer Advocate Advisory Council.

HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED?
Host a party on September 5th in conjunction with Stand Up To Cancer’s televised event and donate the proceeds to the IMF, raising money directly for myeloma research and helping us find a cure.

HOW DO YOU GET STARTED?
All you need to do is contact Suzanne Battaglia today at 1-800-452-CURE or sbattaglia@myeloma.org

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

  1. Step 1: Have a party (much like an Oscar party) where you can all watch the show September 5th.

  2. Step 2: Contact the IMF to set up your own, personal, secure, web page.

  3. Step 3: E-mail, call, and write your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers and ask them to:

    1. Join you at your party on September 5th, before 8 pm

    2. Make a donation (however small) to the IMF’s research program through your web page

  4. Step 4: Get out the food and drink

  5. Step 5: You and your guests will be part of a nationwide event.

  6. Step 6: Take lots of pictures of people at your party and send them to us at events@myeloma.org.

WE DO ALL THE REST!

Each IMF party host and hostess will receive featured host recognition in the Spring 2009 issue of Making Miracles, featuring photos from your parties.

The host that raises the most in support of IMF research will get an autographed program book from the Second Annual Comedy Celebration – signed by all the celebrities who participate in the IMF’s Annual Comedy Celebration benefiting the Peter Boyle Memorial Fund.
