We have all supported many worthy causes. Earlier this year, many of you supported my "75/750/$7500" objectives to raise donations for the American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" signature fund raiser. The results ($16,000+) were outstanding.
For '08, I hope you will join with me in representing a very worthy foundation, the INTERNATIONAL MYELOMA FOUNDATION (IMF).
Joanne and I became aware when our son, Bryan, was diagnosed with myeloma four years ago. Today, Bryan is in remission and hoping that our monetary donations will help to find a cure for this treatable but incurable disease.
My slogan for 2008 is "THE SPIRIT of '76." I have been blessed with 76 years of reasonably good health. Beginning on New Year's Day, I will start my "Run for a Cure" with an objective of 760 miles and donations/pledges of $7600 (76/760/$7600), ending on April 15.
To start off "THE SPIRIT of '76," we have made a small donation (online) to start the ball rolling. We hope you will join with us to work toward eradicating multiple myeloma in the very near future. Sincere thanks from two very appreciative cancer survivors and parents who believe the achievement of one's goal is assured the moment you commit yourself to it.
Be sure to HONK if you see me on the road.
