FUNdraising Events

Member Fundraisers
You know you want to do something in your community to raise funds and public awareness about myeloma, but deciding on what to do can be confusing. The IMF's FUNdraising program can help you. We have over 12 years of experience helping members around the world raise money for research and educational programs.

We can give your event or campaign its own web page, allowing your friends and family to donate online. Below you will find a listing of events we have going on throughout the year, and we would be happy to add yours as well. In addition, this year we’re debuting a new magazine called "Making Miracles," in which we highlight IMFers who are proactive in our mutual goals: helping to find a cure for myeloma and at the same time, spreading awareness in their local communities.

FUNdraising is fun (get it?) and easy to do, and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you made a difference. No idea is too large or too small. Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer—people will want to help! We are here to provide you with the tools, assistance and expertise you'll need to make your FUNdraiser a success. Get started today, by contacting our dedicated staff person, Suzanne Battaglia, SBattaglia@myeloma.org or (800) 452-2873. She is here to chat with you about any ideas you might have. Be part of the progress of making miracles happen!
Zumba for Multiple Myeloma
My name is Sandi Hunsuckle, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in October of 2010. In June of 2011, I had a stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. I am currently in complete remission However, many of my friends in my support group are not as blessed as I am. Multiple myeloma is a treatable cancer. However at this time there is no cure, but with continued support, it is very possible that we can turn this cancer from a fatal disease into a chronic disease such as diabetes. We are so close!

Art-on-the-Gogh
Art-on-the-Gogh is a fun and creative painting event that requires no previous painting experience. Molly Loch provides all of the supplies and instruction and walks the group step-by-step through the process of painting a picture. Participants follow along and each painting ends up with an individual flair. Space is limited so we ask that people register as soon as possible to lock in on a seat. And yes, you get to take your completed artwork home! The goal is to raise significant funds between now and March 31st, in support of Myeloma Awareness Month.

Cycle for a Cure
March is Myeloma Awareness Month and our goal is to raise awareness and money to go towards research and a cure. This is a disease we know will have a cure, we just want to help fund this to happen! We want to never have to say "Incurable" again.

Ava & Cece's RACE TO BEAT MYELOMA
Our names are Ava and Cece Fainberg and we live in Chevy Chase, MD. On May 2, 2015, with our family and friends, we will host a walk & run to support the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF). Our grandfather, Benson Klein, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1998 (before we were born), and the IMF has been very near to our hearts ever since. Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells, which are found in bone marrow. Among other symptoms, this disease can cause tumors in bones and can compromise the immune system.
