A very informative article. Thank you. My sister has just been diagnosed with MM.

As I read your article I am picturing the pain and suffering my father went through. At no time did we think we were going to lose our father to this disease. My father shared all those symptoms with us however we thought it was because his doctor just diagnosed him as diabetic. We were also confused with his back pain since he hurt his back at work and was going to workers compensation doctors, but in reality he was already on the final stages of MM. My dad was seeing his doctor month and seeing the workers comp doctors weekly and not one of them were able to diagnose him correctly. My father, the pillared of our home lost his life to MM on June 5th 2012, two weeks after he was finally diagnosed of MM. He was a healthy 260 pounds in January and by May he was 215 pounds. What happened....Help!!

I found this article very informative, but also very concerning. My ex-husband & father of my 10 year old son, had a recent scare with MM. He had all of the symptoms. But, they said he doesn't have it in his bone marrow & they will check him once a year. Also, his father died from MM. What concerns me is they link to CMV. My ex-husband & I also lost a son when I was 7 months pregnant, which they said was CMV. Now, my 10 year old seems to have a comprised immune system. He had H1N1, Scarlet Fever(which is pretty much unheard of anymore) with strep & 2 so called viral skin infections, one of which was called pityreasis rosea. I found a link to CMV. Not to mention just being just sick in general. My question is could all of this be related & should I have my son checked???
