New Study Examines Value of Novel Imaging Techniques for Myeloma Patients
Success with new imaging techniques enhances early diagnosis. The IMF is proud to have been able to support in part this collaborative research to investigate such new techniques, as reported in the journal 'Leukemia.' The results are very important and can lead to a new and better definition for myeloma based upon the documentation of myeloma lesions before the patient starts to experience problems. IMF's Support Group Team Marks the New Year with New Faces
Along with the New Year, the IMF welcomes three new Regional Directors to the Support Group team. Nancy Bruno, Anne M. Pacowta and Sue M. Enright are all local Support Group leaders who now are bringing their experience, compassion and skill to the regional level. At the same time, we're saying goodbye to longtime Support Group Regional Director Andy Lebkuecher with a big "thanks!" for the kind of time and effort that makes a difference in myeloma patients' lives. January's Advocate of the Month: 'Just Living Is a Win Against Cancer'
Jameca Barrett, who was diagnosed with myeloma in 2003 at age 26, says, "I've taken on the challenges of living with a terminal illness that has no cure and I've found a cause to party each and every day… because just living is a win against cancer that I'm compelled to continuously celebrate!"
