The IMF Reports: New Results in Frontline and at Relapse Presented at ASCO 2012 Cancer Conference

IMF chairman and co-founder Brian G.M. Durie, M.D., highlights the key myeloma presentations in his report from the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), which ended Tuesday in Chicago. “While ASCO does not have the number or scope of abstracts presented at the meetings of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), there were several important presentations…New data are moving the field forward and helping to identify the best approaches to diagnosis and therapy for myeloma patients worldwide.” READ MORE

Louisiana Becomes 20th State to Sign Oral Drug Parity Legislation into Law
Louisiana is the latest victory in the growing movement to pass oral chemotherapy parity bills. At the recent annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in Chicago, attendees learned about the IMF’s key role in the issue. California is next in line to consider legislation: AB 1000 was passed by the Assembly and has been sent to the Senate Health Committee for review this month.
