| Pomalidomide Submitted to FDA; Carfilzomib to Be Discussed June 20 at the Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee |

For patients eagerly awaiting news of new treatments, Celgene announced today that pomalidomide has been submitted to the FDA. If it is approved, pomalidomide could be available late this year. The FDA also announced the Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee will discuss ONYX Pharmaceuticals' carfilzomib on June 20th. The committee recommendation usually guides the FDA decision on approval, but it is not binding.The IMF will have more to say about these developments and we will be closely watching the FDA actions. | 10th Annual Robert A. Kyle Lifetime Achievement Award |

| The IMF has chosen Professor Jesus San-Miguel as recipient of the 2012 Robert A. Kyle Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, named for its first recipient, honors an outstanding physician whose body of work in the field of myeloma has made significant advances in research, treatment and care of myeloma patients. Prof. San-Miguel will receive the award during the International Myeloma Working Group’s 3rd Annual Summit this summer in Amsterdam. READ MORE |

| Beth Faiman, member of the IMF Nurse Leadership Board, has received the 2012 Excellence in Medical Oncology Award from the Oncology Nursing Society. A certified nurse practitioner at the Cleveland Clinic, Faiman is also a full-time pre-doctoral research fellow at Case Western Reserve.
