IMF Unveils New Logo

We are excited to share with you our new logo, which replaces the one that has served us so well since the IMF was founded in 1990. The new logo's modern design expresses the progress and hopefulness that reflects the IMF's vision of a bright future for all myeloma patients.

The logo retains our signature burgundy color, a nod to the importance of the IMF's long history of work on behalf of myeloma patients. The image of the man has evolved and so has the IMF. But the constant is that he is moving forward with his arms out, welcoming everyone: patients, families, doctors, nurses, and the entire myeloma community. Shedding Light on the Potential of Anti-Malarial Drugs for Myeloma

Have researchers overlooked the potential for anti-malarial drugs to fight myeloma? Not at all, according to IMF Chairman Dr. Brian Durie. In his blog this week, he shares his experience conducting clinical studies of anti-malarial drugs in the 1980s and 1990s, most of which proved harsh and ineffective compared to the novel therapies arriving on the scene at the time. IMF and Binding Site Partner for Black Swan Research Initiative®
The IMF has formed a partnership with Binding Site, a clinical diagnostic company that developed Freelite and Hevylite diagnostic blood tests that are used to monitor myeloma, to support the Black Swan Research Initiative®. Freelite and Hevylite blood tests, which assist physicians and researchers in understanding the course of a myeloma patient's disease and the quality of response to therapies, are important components of the Black Swan Research Initiative approach to finding a cure for myeloma.
