Wisconsin Makes the Cancer Treatment Fairness Act a Law

Today in Milwaukee cancer patient advocates, including myeloma Support Group members Linda Chowa and Mary Sandberg, at right, looked on as Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed the Cancer Treatment Fairness Act (SB 300) into law, making Wisconsin the 30th state to enact anticancer drug parity legislation. "This bill shows that our voices do indeed make a difference, because SB 300 was on its deathbed just three weeks ago, and today it is law," said Sue Enright, Midwest Director of Support Groups for the International Myeloma Foundation. Myeloma Patient Andy Sninsky Rides 1,000 Miles through California

Inspired by the idea that travel is more about discovery than distance, multiple myeloma patient Andy Sninsky decided to set out on a 1,000-mile bike ride through California, stopping at several myeloma support groups along the way. Andy was an avid cycler before his diagnosis, and he enjoys getting out on the road and giving back in what he considers his "second life," living with myeloma. Andy's recent stops included the IMF's headquarters in North Hollywood, CA, and then on to the Inland Empire Multiple Myeloma Support Group in Riverside – a mere 68 mile spin!
