ASH 2013 Preview, Part 2: From New Drugs to the Biology of Myeloma

Which studies presented at the upcoming annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) will have the biggest impact as we move towards 2014? According to IMF Chairman Dr. Brian Durie, they are "those which provide a better understanding of underlying biology and how to test for minimal residual disease (MRD) and risk factors, and those which provide insight into trigger factors and disease subtypes such as extramedullary disease and plasma cell leukemia." IMF Launches New Website for Veterans

The IMF has long been a resource for veterans seeking information about myeloma – like Jerry Walton (pictured), a 33-year Navy veteran who founded the Southeastern Virginia Multiple Myeloma Support Group. Now that effort expands with the launch of the IMF's new Veterans Against Myeloma (VAM) website. The site provides links to relevant Veterans Administration information, to state veterans assistance offices and to national veterans service organizations.
