This week, the International Myeloma Foundation welcomed a group of physicians from China's top medical institutions to the IMF's 2nd annual Myeloma Master Class.
This comprehensive unique educational forum was created and led by IMF Chairman and Co-founder, Dr. Brian Durie. The immersion course included three days of class time and featured speakers, Dr. Durie, Dr. Sagar Lonial of Emory University in Atlanta, and Dr. Joseph Mikhael of the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The course was structured to include a site visit to the University of California at San Francisco, where Dr. Tom Martin took them on a tour of one of the country's leading myeloma cancer facilities. While in San Francisco, the visiting doctors had the opportunity to attend an IMF Patient & Family Seminar. They went to Onyx to meet the Onyx team and visit the campus and learn first hand about of the new and promising novel agent Kyprolis. They were also able to sit in and observe patient-consult discussions with Dr. Durie and Dr. William Bensinger of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
