AMEN is proud to announce that the first meeting of the Israeli Myeloma Working Group will be held on July 29, 2005.
Creation of the working group was initiated by AMEN as a joint venture with the Israeli Society of Hematologists.
Chairing the meeting will be AMEN's Medical Advisor, Professor Aaron Polliack, and the head of the Israeli Society of Hematologists and Blood Bank, Professor Gil Lugassy. Professor Lugassy sent invitations to all the medical institutions in Israel that treat myeloma patients, inviting them to send two representatives to the meeting.
At the meeting, the participants will choose a chairman and secretary and address the following four topics:
- Establishment of a registry
- Establishment of a computerized database accessible by all institutions
- Basic research
- Clinical research
Also representing AMEN at the meeting will be Shmuel Wolfman, an attorney, and Asher Azoulay, a CPA.
AMEN has made it a priority to raise the necessary funds to support the Israeli Study group as it is part of their mission to find a cure for MM.
