IMF Participates In Senate Hearing On Cancer Research Funding As Part Of One Voice Against Cancer Advocacy Day
The IMF joined over 40 organizations participating in the One Voice Against Cancer Advocacy Day on June 3-4th in Washington, DC. The highlight of the Advocacy Day was a Senate Hearing, chaired by Senator Harkin. IMF President Susie Novis testified as part of a panel that included Dr. Elmer Huerta of the Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Ronald Herberman, Director of the Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, IMF President Susie Novis, brain cancer survivor Michael Bruene and AOL Time Warner Chariman Steve Case. Become a Part of the IMF's Multiple Myeloma Quilt of Courage
The IMF's Multiple Myeloma Quilt of Courage is a creative project designed to celebrate the lives of those affected by multiple myeloma. For a minimum donation of $25, you will receive a 12x12 inch cotton fabric square to decorate in any manner that you choose (sewing, iron-on design, fabric paint, etc.). Fabric squares can be customized in honor of a loved one currently battling myeloma, or in memory of a loved ones courageous fight against the disease. Only 100 squares will be offered in 2002. The decorated squares will be crafted into a series of quilts that will become a travelling display at future IMF meetings and events.
