IMF President Susie Novis Testifies At Senate Hearing On Cancer Research As Part Of One Voice Against Cancer Advocacy Day

The IMF joined over 40 organizations participating in the One Voice Against Cancer Advocacy Day on June 3-4th in Washington, DC. THe highlight of the Advocacy Day was a Senate Hearing, chaired by Senator Harkin. IMF President Susie Novis testified as part of a panel that included Dr. Elmer Huerta of the Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Ronald Herberman, Director of the Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, IMF President Susie Novis, brain cancer survivor Michael Bruene and AOL Time Warner Chariman Steve Case. Susie's testimony carried forward One Voice Against Cancer's request for funding for $27.3 billion for the National Institutes of Health, to fiulfil the 5-year doubling pledge, $5.69 billion for the National Cancer Institute, $199.6 million for the National Center For Minority Health and Health Disparities and $348 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
