The International Myeloma Foundation has received notification of an upcoming Internet chat session, hosted by the Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), that may be of interest to our members. The following message was sent by the PAF:
Resources & Solutions for Uninsured Patients
Hosted by Beth Darnley, Director of Patient Services for PAF
The Patient Advocate Foundation invites you to join Beth Darnley, Director of Patient Services for PAF, for a live chat on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. We invite you to pass this reminder along to the members of your organization as well.
The topic of discussion will be "Resources and Solutions for Uninsured Patients." Each year, thousands of uninsured Americans are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. These patients are often faced with delayed treatment and ultimately insurmountable medical debt as a result of their coverage status. While there may not be a universal safety net in place for all uninsured individuals, there are programs and resources throughout the country that are designed to help when access to care is impossible due to financial constraints. We will be exploring these options during this discussion.
For instructions on how to log into the chat room, please see the instructions page. For questions about the chat, or additional information about the Patient Advocate Foundation, please call (800) 532-5274.
