Maxine and Arnold Levine
Palm Coast, FL

After Maxine wrenched her back, she went for a number of doctors’ visits, and was finally directed to get a bone marrow biopsy. As a result, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Having worked in oncology medical records, Maxine was shocked because this was a disease she’d never heard of. Likewise, her husband Arnold, who had worked in bereavement counseling, was unfamiliar with the disease. Both credit the IMF for guiding them on their myeloma journey. As Maxine relates about the diagnosis experience, “Don’t panic. Get educated. And there’s hope!”
