Cancer Drug Costs: Is the System Broken?

A segment last Sunday on the CBS program “60 Minutes” focused on the high cost of cancer drugs. It drew wide attention to an issue that has been the subject of conversation among patients, doctors, and policymakers over the last year. In his blog this week, IMF Chairman Dr. Brian Durie calls for an open dialogue among all parties concerned about high costs, and stresses that we need everyone at the table. Watch Medicare 101 Webinar Recording

The IMF Advocacy team hosted a webinar, Medicare 101, on Medicare access last month. A recording of the webinar is now available. Guest speaker Dr. Gretchen Jacobson, Associate Director with the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Program on Medicare Policy, provided a wealth of information on the Medicare enrollment process and types of coverage. First Meeting Scheduled for First
New Hampshire Myeloma Support Group


 

Exciting news for New Hampshire myeloma patients and family members! The first myeloma support group in New Hampshire, the Manchester Multiple Myeloma Information Group, will hold its first meeting next week. This support group is one of more than 245 local groups that the IMF supports worldwide. The Manchester Multiple Myeloma Information Group will meet on Thursday, October 16th at 6:30 pm at Easter Seals, 555 Auburn Street, Manchester, New Hampshire.
