AMEN Seminar for Hematology Residents
On the 7th of June, 2006, AMEN organized a multiple myeloma seminar for hematology residents in the Accadia Hotel in Herzelyia sponsored by Jianssen Cilag.

The seminar was opened by Dr. Ben Zion Katz of the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel-Aviv) and head of the Israeli Myeloma Basic Science group "Microenvironmental interactions in Multiple Myeloma."

Prof. Dina Ben-Yehuda (Hadassah en Karem and chair of the IMSG)presented on molecular and cytogenetic changes in multiple myeloma.

This was followed by a viewing of the AMEN movie, and a question and answer session led by Yigal Chetritt and Malca Arbel (of the Support Group of AMEN).

Dr.Izhar Hardan, of the Sheba Medical Center and Secretary of the IMSG, discussed treatment strategies in MM. Difficult questions and many (too many) answers.

Following the lunch break, Dr. Hila Magen of the Hematology Dept. at Rabin Medical Center presented Total Therapy I,II,III- vision and reality.

Dr. Avihai Shimony, from the department of Bone Marrow Transplantation at Sheba Medical Centert-Tel Hashomer, discussed allogene transplant in MM: the risks and benefits.

This seminar was an additional effort of AMEN and the IMSG to pass on the message and place the focus on the treatement for MM patients within the professional circles.
